Have you ever watched someone else celebrate their dream come true and wondered why you’re not there yet? Here are 5 likely reasons your dreams haven’t come true:
1. You’re Not Really Dreaming
Until you feel the fear, you are not truly dreaming. I once facilitated a brainstorm and mastermind business session for a network of women. It was truly enlightening and powerful. We saw clearly that the same emotions and road blocks limit most of us from attaining our desires whether in life or business, all of them encapsulated in one big one, the “FEAR FACTOR”. Yet we also all agreed that there’s only one way to conquer it- feel it, embrace it, and JUST DO IT! Someone once said, “When your memories are bigger than your dreams, you’re headed for the grave.” Dream for real!
2. You’re Waiting For Perfect Conditions Before You Start
Until you just DO IT, you will never truly live or move your business forward. Stop waiting for perfect conditions; ignite your dreams through practice! He who waits for the winds will never sow. Stop making excuses today and get started on that business plan, that job change, that visa application, that marriage proposal, that partnership. Just do something. Anything!
Famous motivational speaker and author, Mark Victor Hansen, said, “Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”
The world is waiting for your move, and so is your Maker. Be ignited for world impact. Be incredible and amazing today.
3. You’re Not Dreaming With God
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23.
Such a simple yet profound word, and loaded with promise! To really ignite your dreams and desires, you must dream with God. First, you must have a burning hope, a dream, a desire- something you are believing or working towards. Then you’ve got to make sure you’re speaking and confessing that desire or dream- declaring the word, talking about the expectation and attainment of your dream, desire or vision. Your confession must be consistent, unwavering regardless of what the natural circumstances look like, and finally, don’t forget He who promised. Remember this even if you forget everything else.
4. It’s Just a Matter of Time
Sometimes that’s just it. There’s an appointed time. Do not be weary from waiting. Always keep in mind your dream and the Giver of the dream. Be encouraged to keep at it until you attain those promises.
5. You Have Given Up
This is something you must never do! That stirring within you is a God given desire to soar like an eagle. You were born to fly, to do phenomenal things, to truly shine. Don’t let your dreams die. It’s never too late; age doesn’t matter. All that matters is that God planted a winning spirit within you.
If your dreams were important to you, surely you wouldn’t give up. If you’ve given up, you need to re-ignite your dreams. Giving up is a bad idea. Choose to see your dreams come true, and expect to be totally and ridiculously blessed out of your socks!
