To change life, you must co-create it, by shaping it with the most powerful tool used to create the world – words! Udo Okonjo I have found that naming each month is both powerful and inspiring, and in many cases miraculous.
WHEN ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE At the beginning of August I was torn between calling August simply ‘Awesome’ as my dearest hubby suggested when I asked his opinion, but I eventually stuck with Awesome and Accomplished which I felt strongly about. As soon as I determined to speak about August as Awesome, the first news I got at the end of the day on August 1st was anything but awesome, never mind accomplished. In fact it was decidedly “AWFUL”. I got home feeling almost drained of all the enthusiasm I had started the month with. At the weekend however, I spoke to a dear friend who spoke words of life and encouragement across thousands of miles over the phone from South Africa, while I stayed on the word of truth, and later heard a powerful sermon on Sunday that fired me up some more. By Monday morning! I was beginning to feel a bit better but still pressured mentally –what with more news of Ebola and my personal issues! On getting home that evening, an even more difficult situation arose which left us eating dinner extremely silently.
SPEAK THE WORD. I thought how much more can I cope with before I decide I spoke too soon about an Awesome & Accomplished August? Then I remembered some of my writings, I remembered my declaration barely 24 hours earlier, and I started to meditate on the words I had spoken. I started to review my perspective, yes it is bad, but I’m still standing. Like David, I started to encourage myself. I went to war with words floating in my head and being spoken out of my mouth. I started to look for various angles and ways out of the situation. Even if it stayed the same, could I choose to respond differently? My own words came back to find me. I went to bed quite solemn that night but hanging on to the very words I had spoken earlier, I stayed so focused on those words of truth and light that when I slept all I could do was mutter, and keep muttering words of victory, words of desperate faith and confidence in what I believed would be an awesome outcome. I read some of my own messages and notes on Facebook and journal and went to sleep. I woke up with praise on my lips for some reason. I felt like I was awake the whole night reminding myself that I would prevail, declaring the end based on what I had believed about this month –awesome and accomplished is what it has to be, not awful and desperate. ‘Hmmm we shall see’ seemed to be the contending reaction in my head. Be quiet, I am standing on the word. I have spoken and therefore I believe and stand. That’s my posture and it won’t change! STAND: Somehow, standing in faith in the midst of the battle, hanging on to the word of life, and desperately believing that it is as I have spoken –that sense of certainty even though difficult to explain came from the place of fixing my eyes on the word of life. I felt like I had wrestled like Jacob using words to prevail. At dawn, all that started happening was victory. I started receiving a deluge of awesome news on many fronts –I was literally astounded. Accomplished! So many times I looked at my daily diary and thought –hmm accomplished! At the end of the day I did not have enough room for all that was accomplished in one day – from old stalled transactions, to resolution of old difficult matters, to progress in the tough situation that had arisen …to a change of perspective regarding my previously perceived impossibility, to new and unexpected victories. Accomplished! Awesome! Awesome & Accomplished August! Indeed! It’s only the 6th of August, but we must stand in faith. We must war with words. We must believe again. We must declare this is the month of awesome things. This is the month where we accomplish great and mighty things. I just know it and believe it will be so! And so shall it be. It cannot be otherwise for you and for me. To your success and greatness Udo Okonjo Do you agree? Send me awesome news of your accomplishments. I’m expectant for you.
