Having a clear set of goals for your business was number one on the list.
One of the areas you will need to set clear goals as an Ignited Tycoon is in determining what sort of clients you want to work with in 2014.
I am always amazed at entrepreneurs who set out to do business without clarifying exactly who and what type of client they want to do business with. Are you one of those who can barely tolerate your clients or do you work with clients you are not in love with?
Identifying exactly the kind of clients you want to serve is key to your success. You should be able to describe with a 100% specificity exactly who your client is, what they look like, smell like, taste like, feel like. You should determine whether you like clients who treat you like a left over pudding or like a priced jewel. Do you want to serve kings and princes or do you want to serve paupers? As an entrepreneur you should be dedicated to serving your clients and should be committed to going out of your way to deliver the absolute best value to them. No excuses.
Choosing the wrong kind of clients can however spell doom for your business results. I personally choose to serve clients who have what I call the KP-DNA and mentality i.e. Kings and Princes.
Here are a few reasons why you should choose to work with Kings and Princes in 2014.
1. Kings and Princes pay for their goods and services on time.
2. Kings and Princes understand fair pricing and don’t haggle to destroy your business. They just want a win-win deal.
3. Kings and Princes appreciate your services and products and the value you provide.
4. They know what they want, or can recognise it when you present it.
5. They don’t have time to waste and so won’t waste your own time.
6. You will learn from working with them because they give your constructive feedback.
The biggest advantage of working for KPs is that they are easy to love and serve. When you are in love as a business person, you become ignited and will go out of your way to serve your clients. The extra mile becomes like the ‘next door mile’, easy to attain because you are in love.
This year, I want you to FALL IN LOVE AGAIN. Sit down and begin to segment the clients you have served in the past and see which ones sound like Kings and Princes and decide to focus your resources and energy on serving them.
Make profitable music this 2014. That’s what Ignited Tycoons do when they are in love.
