This season of the year is the time to shed all the excess weight of excuses and fear that has stopped you from flourishing at the levels you know are possible this year. (Watch my perspective on November here.)
Whenever I start feeling overwhelmed as happens frequently with my “full on” life and demanding business with its’ unpredictable daily pressures – I have learned to play the game of “imagine.”
Develop a fertile imagination
Imagine with me for a second, what would happen if we decided that all our fears and concerns were unfounded and that the world is conspiring to do us good?
Imagine if you stepped out this month and took on those things that you know you ought to have addressed but somehow you were hoping would just disappear. I have learned that issues just don’t disappear. If you have a weighty matter to settle, take it up. Brace yourself and start by assessing your options. Be brave and factual. Take action. Defy your worst fears. Things are never as bad as they first appear.
Worst Case Scenario Vs Best Case
I have learned to ask – what’s the worst case scenario? And every time I’ve answered that question, I realized that as long as it’s not death, I can take it on. (And even that has to bow if it’s not the right time).
Every time you confront the worse case scenario, imagine also the best case and then deliberately choose to start working towards the best case scenario. Choose to embrace hope while ensuring you are taking all the right steps.
Trick or Treat?
This month, let’s play the game together. Instead of thinking ‘trick or treat’ like the kids do at Halloween, let’s ‘Act as if’ the whole world is our ally and wanting to give us a massive treat. Let’s blow the limits off November!
I wish you success in life and business. Become truly unstoppable.
