Success is not from China or America. It does not carry the passport of Canada. It is a global entity available to everyone for citizenship.
Poverty does not carry the passport of any country. Both wealth and poverty are global entities. So what’s your excuse?
Do you realise that success, wealth, results don’t discriminate on the basis of your country of origin? From Ghana, to Columbia, to Britain, to Italy, to China or Canada, the principles of success and access to wealth are the same. If you apply them, work them and use them they will serve you diligently. So instead of complaining, grumbling, or wondering whether you will ever attain the heights reached by icons, why not consider the following basic principles to ignite success in your life starting today:
1. TAKE 100% RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE: Know and accept that if it has to be, it’s up to you. Not the government, or your spouse, or your village head; not even your boss or company has responsibility for your life.
Quit relying on external factors to be right for you to get ahead. Decide today, that you have what it takes to make it and YOU will make the decisions and take the actions required to move your life ahead. You will do the homework required. You will reach out to the network required. You will do the extra to find new options for becoming more valuable in order to earn more. YOU have the power within you. Make that commitment today, that’s what successful people do.
2. HAVE A SENSE OF BELIEF: Without a sense of belief in yourself and your abilities, you are unlikely to achieve any success. An internal confidence born out of an understanding that you have the power to make it in life, to get ahead in any situation is a passport you have to carry on this journey to success. Without it, if you lack confidence, if you worry about your being inadequate, you won’t get started on this journey. Never mind arriving.
To ignite belief, begin by short-listing all your accomplishments in life to date. From being able to walk, to your degree, to making the grade, writing that short piece, speaking on stage to 10 or a hundred people, winning the 100m race when you were young, getting your first job, your first paying client etc…identify, acknowledge and celebrate all your past wins and victories. People who recognise what they’ve done ignite higher levels of confidence and are more optimistic about life and what they can achieve. Stop being pessimistic or dismissing things that you’ve accomplished. Recognise and celebrate them. Believe in YOUR Power. You have been blessed with so much.
3. TAKE BOLD ACTION: All successful people take action irrespective of the circumstances around them. They are not cowed by the reports of the weather or the economy. They don’t care what other people are doing or saying, they just take bold action in the direction of their dreams.
Want to carry the passport of success? Do the above three things and get on your journey, this Wondrous Wednesday.
